Part of the Queen's coronation oath is to defend the Protestant faith - i.e. a promise to maintain the established Protestant religion in the United Kingdom, .but what faith exactly is Queen Elizabeth defending now and for whom?

With the Guardian report explaining
"In 1999, the Catholic and Lutheran churches agreed a “joint declaration on the doctrine of justification” that resolved many of the theological issues at the heart of the schism. This document has now been welcomed and affirmed by the Anglican communion."
with just a few minor stumbling blocks e.g. female priests to be overcome for the final official reunification.
The Guardian went on to say
"Meanwhile, pockets of sectarianism remain in parts of northern Europe, including Northern Ireland and Scotland".
But what the Guardian does not say is the reunification did not start here - because very quietly in 1987, The Queen, Prince Oskar of Prussia (Germany), Queen Beatrix of Holland and the King of Sweden together surrendered defense of the faith to the Pope.

The "Knights" of the Knights of Malta and the four Royal controlled order of St John are some of the most powerful people in the world - as invitation only members mostly come from "noble" lineage to be their Knights.
Noble's children have even sworn in as young as three to ensure their lifetime loyalty is to the Pope's order before their nation.

Order of St John and the Knights of Malta (a.k.a Knights Hospitaller)
Our Queen, the King of Sweden, the Queen of Holland and the Queen's counterpart in Germany, Prince Oskar of Prussia all defend the Protestant faith, with their Knights of their Orders of St John of Jerusalmen, all formerly part of the Pope's Catholic (Knights Hospitaller), an ancient medieval Catholic military order originally headquartered in Jerusalem, Malta, Rhodes and St Petersburg.
All Knights of Malta were given independence from other nations, granted by Pontifical decree, and given the universally recognised right to maintain and deploy armed forces, were the grounds for the international sovereignty of the Order from its beginning.

After the conquest of Jerusalem in 1099, during the First Crusade, the Pope set up the Knights of Malta as a religious and military order under its own Papal charter, charged with the care and defense of the Holy Land, eventually operating from Malta after the conquest of the Holy Land by Islamic Forces in 1291- with the Knights of Malta kicked out of Malta by Napolean in 1798 with the Protestant British Monarch refusing to let them return after the British took control of Malta in 1800.
After years without a base, the Pope's Knights of Malta settled in Rome in 1834 the Order settled in Rome, where it owned the Palace of Malta in Via Condotti 68 and the Villa on the Aventine. Both of these properties remain in the possession of the Order to this day and both have extraterritorial status.
Extraterritorial status means the Pope's Knights of Malta (full title The Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta) is one of the largest individual organisations of the Catholic Church. It is at one and the same time a major Religious Order, a recognised ancient Order of Chivalry and a major charitable organisation.
Although its ‘territory’ is confined to two buildings in Rome, the Order is regarded as a sovereign nation, issues its own stamps and coinage, exchanges diplomatic representation with 100 nations and maintains a permanent mission to the United Nations. The head of the Order, who is elected for life, ranks as a Cardinal of the Church and is referred to and receives the dignities of a Prince.
The Knights of Malta was headed by Englishman Mathew Festing, since 2008 as the 79th Grand Master, until he was sacked recently by the Pope - despite this meant to be a lifetime appointment - because he attempted to sack his German deputy (Festing also a member of the Queen's Order of St John).
The previous Grand Master, elected in 1988 was Fra’ Andrew Bertie, (died in 2008), an English nobleman (descendant of the Stuart kings and distant cousin of the Queen and one time officer in the Scots Guards) who claimed Knights of Malta are just about helping the poor and sick and it is the other Orders of St John who do the wars to defend against the Muslims and defend against paganism..

German Order of St John (Bailiwick of Brandenburg) Prince Oskar of Prussia is the Grand Master of his Order of St John and he has 4000 (invitation only) Knights scattered worldwide. His order is not only for German citizens, as his Knights are from many countries. Although membership is no longer limited to the nobility, as it was until 1948, the majority of knights are still drawn from this class.
The Order comprises seventeen commanderies in Germany, one in Austria, Finland, France, Hungary and Switzerland and has a Global Commandery with twelve sub-commanderies, one in Austria, Finland, France, Hungary, and Switzerland, and a global commandery with subcommanderies in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Italy, Namibia, Poland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the USA and Venezuela (now on behalf of the Pope once again).
Order Of St John of Sweden is a Protestant chivalric order where King Carl XVI Gustav is the current High Patron, and Queen Silvia is the First Honorary Member of the Order. It is a member of the Alliance of the Orders of Saint John of Jerusalem.It was founded in 1920 in Stockholm, Sweden, as an affiliate of the German Bailiwick of Brandenburg.[1] In November 1946, it was granted a Royal Charter by King Gustav V (now serving the Pope once again).
Order of St John of the Netherlands, now headed by Queen Beatrix, began to spread across the Netherlands in the 12th century. The Prussian king suppressed the Bailiwick of Brandenburg in 1811. A number of Dutch members, moreover, gathered together to found it again in 1852. In 1909, an affiliation was created in the Kingdom of Holland. In 1946, the entity separated from the German Order and was annexed to the Dutch Crown, but not as a State Order.

The Queen's family name is really Saxe-Coburg and Gotha - her grandfather King George V changed their name during world war one - by "royal decree" because their world empire was turning against them with anti-German sentiment after a German plane bearing their name murdered toddlers in a nursery in London it bombed.
The House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha is a German dynasty that ruled the duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and a cadet branch of the Saxon House of Wettin - the oldest dynasty in Europe.

The replacement head of the worldwide Jesuit order , who serves in Rome alongside his Jesuit Pope, the largest order in the Catholic Church, is Venezuelan Fr Arturo Sosa Abascal - known as the “Black Pope” because of the order’s global influence and because the society have often been seen as a parallel power to the papacy.
The new black pope has a degree in politics and in psychology and his father was a government minister in Venezuela - while not always explicitly vocal, he was critical of the socialist government in Venezuela pioneered by Hugo Chavez - a government which America undermined which now has Venezuela in turmoil - after he spent some time teaching in America.

When the Queen surrenders the protestant faith and makes her protestant Knights subservient to the Pope's Knights of Malta has she surrendered the faith and so the "royal" family's right to the crown?
